Well I screwed up, plain and simple, didn't plan my system right and kind of hard to change now (240g DT) We didn't install a ATO system, and its getting to be a pain in the butt! Too hard to run one now, as I have vaulted ceilings and no real access into the wall to run the RO line. Are there any options for doing something like a tank/tub of water nearby that I can fill say once a week that will ATO the sump itself? Not sure if this is possible or if I am just dreaming, if you know of something please help point me in the right direction!

I had the same problem. I bought this kit Top-it-Off Kit Premium and use a 5 gallon bucket hidden in the cabinet under my fuge as the resevoir. Hope this helps!:)

here is something i made. I found it at work being thrown away. Its for pump down applications (meaning you would have to turn it upside down for it to work in an aquarium) but it works really good and it was free. I just use a small pump and a 5 gal. bucket or in your case a tub or ro water. http://www.3reef.com/forums/i-made/my-diy-auto-top-off-79167.html

Of course that's possible. I use one on my 55. I bought the float valve and switch from autotopoff.com for $50 (got the double) then added a aqualifter to move the water from my bucket to the tank. Very easy and very reliable. No issues yet and it's been up for about 1.5 years.

I'd hire twin Scandinavian bikini super models to walk RO/DI water a few ounces at a time to the tank and dump it in. Work them in 12 hour shifts.

But you know, I'm just baller like that.

I have a 10 gallon acrlic tank that sits on the side and just a bit higher than my 55g sump. I drilled it and installed some 1/4" quick fittings with a 1/4" line that runs to a kent float valve I installed in the return pump section of my sump. It's nothing high-tech, just gravity fed and it works great for me. I fill up the 10g tank once a week. I also drilled a hole close to the top of the 10g holding tank and installed a 1/2" overflow line that's connected to my 35g brute RODI make up water container....just incase the 10g tank should overflow.

So, a container with a pump and a pressure switch with a float valve are really all I need?
