Well instead of hijacking someone else thread figured just create a quick 1.

38gal driving me nuts with evaporation need an ATO

In research I have read some really good reviews on the Tunze 3155 but was wondering if anyone has had the Tunze 3152 for tanks up to 55gal?

Any reason not to by a used 1?

I just bought the 3152, so far its great. Only been a couple weeks though. Has a single float switch. Can be set for 1.8 min or 3 min runs before timing out depending on your tank size.

have you been able to test the overflow feature at all. It says the below but wondering if way to test to make sure it actually shuts off if some type failure occurs

For safety purposes, the Osmolator 3152 includes a processor-based anti-overfill system which turns the pump off after five minutes of filling if the level has still not been reached (equal to a pumping of approximately 0.75 gallons).

Yes I did test, mine is set for 1.8 mins, I just let it pump into a pail, it shuts off when limit is reached and will not pump again until you cycle the power. Can also set for 3 minutes, no 5 minute setting. Amount of water pumped before limit is reached is varied with head. The manual has a chart, must be on their website somewhere.

Also processor is only about 1.5 inches square, entire system takes up no space (beside pail)

ok last question do you thing the pump would fit into a 5gal water bottle or is base to big?

If I use 5gal bucket I know my cats are going to be playing with the water and flinging it everywhere... guess could get a cover.

Base of the pump is under 2" in diameter. I'm using a 5 gal bucket and drilled holes in side for the lines (pump wires come loose so they can be passed though a hole then connected, got the idea from the manual) so that the lid still fits tight. They do also sell a reservoir for it which was pretty cheap.

wow that is exactly what top of my 5gal water bottle is.. probably could cut the neck a little lower and should work perfect so thanks for excellent info.

Todd brother wish I could do it but ro/di in wash room other end of house. Have 5 tanks to deal with so put it where wife would not get pissed and out of site. Florida houses (well most of them) do not really have much behind the scenes space meaning pretty damn open. Still miss my man town (cellar) when I lived up north but be damned if I would ever move back to any place that has thing called snow, ice, cold longer than a day or so... ha ha
