I wanna see the Higgs Guage Boson. That is what I am waiting for. That will be a reeaaaal biggie. And the LHC should be able to detect it if it exists. Hawkings waged a bet against it? Bummer. Hard to argue with that guy's brain. He isn't wrong very often. But he is going against the grain. Many more say that Higgs will be found.....unless it is heavier than expected.

i did this for a high school science project, big air compressor, 2 sand blasters and just point them at each other, cost me $150 vs their 15 billion

 

what was the point of the project. ps its so much cooler to shoot stuff using magnets

 

i got to bring 2 "guns" to school legally and even shoot them lol

Na seriously I didnt mess with it, though it could be a really good way of torturing something

 

I think that it is ridiculous that people think it will create black hole's. Even if it produced black hole's they would be very small and they would dissentigrate very quickly. It is an interesting experiment though. I am sure that they will discover lots of cool things.

 

Well I hope that at some point a little pasty pale nerd with a super computer and slide rule and a huge grant doesn't just blow or implode us all to hell. Like Robert Oppenheimer in 44 they hoped the reaction would stop and not turn earth in to a 2nd smaller sun . These same people also came up with the china syndrome theory.. ): That's black hole for you
