Hehe, yeah it gave me a laugh to when i first came across it. I am really excited to see what they find out when they do get it powered up and run their first collision. I think i read it would be about a year though, and maybe longer than that to decipher all the data. We'll see.

6.4 billion euro ($11 billion) project would spark major advances for human society.

You think we could propose that they funnel .00001 percent of that to our budget so that we can sustain the natural reef in individual labs across the world? We got a lawyer in here to write us a contract? Or a lobbytist for a rider?::)

i completely agree and since it takes a while to setup labs the first practice reef they build can be at my house. a couple thousand gallon display should be a good starting place.

We should have a budget to accomodate that!

I wonder what size the carbon foot print of the beast is ??? EPA would never allow it here LOL

Someone mentioned to me yesterday that originally it was supposed to be in Texas. And it would have been able to create heavier particles. Congress must have shut that down. If I am not mistaken, CERN can go to 7Tev, LHC can go to 14Tev. I read on another forum that one beam of the Texas SSC would been able to produce 30Tev. The Higgs Guage Boson can weigh up to 60Tev (that I did not know.....I thought the max weight was much lower). So now, I am a little doubtful that we will find the Higgs. Maybe indirectly we can. I hope. I eat this stuff up. I LOVE theoretical physics.

    Ahh Roger-san

Carbon footprints can be reduced by carbon trading. All the beast needs to do is to plant a few ( thousand ) unwanted trees or to pump CO2 a few 1000 miles underground ( where only the ostrichs can see it ) and we are carbon neutral. It's like wearing a pair of TIGHT carbon slippers, one size fits all :)
