I almost purchased a marineland deep dimension 300g, but my floor can't support its weight and I'm unable to put support under the floor.

so I purcahsed a used Oceanic Tech Series with no damage or scratches with the "oak" oceanic stand a few months ago to replace my island tank because the 125 was a little too long and too shallow for nice rockwork. While I was messing with the stand, I discovered that only the rims are oak so I scavenged it. The stand was black and I don't like black stands.

Here's my DIY canopy. Made from solid poplar and covered with ply at the back.

    Stand before I did anything.

What I did was pull off the nice oak trim and salvage those. Painted the stand white and covered with poplar.

(the wiring is not suppose to be like that. Its just for the time being

Those won't be the actual doors. I just put them to cover the lights at night. I'm not making the doors because of time. I'll just order them.

The two side cabinets are for multiple purposes. Bottom left is calcium reactor. Bottom right is ATO. Middle left is for all the outlets and controllers. Others are for storage. The cabinets aren't done yet as of now. The picture is only the skeleton

The tank is running as of now. Most of its livestock is from my 125. My 125 is also still running :)

I'll post livestock and equipment later

a little late......well, really late respond, but thanks :). I changed it though. A little too unusual IMO:)

I haven't been here in a while so a lot of things has happens since than. About amonth and a half ago, my tanks temperature was at 90 degrees F. I did not have a thermometer because I thought I would not need one since its still pretty cold up here in WA, but I forgot on this tank, I'm not running dual 250w anymore, but dual 400w;D

I've lost quite a lot and the tank is in recover. Most of the corals browned and bleached, but only some completely bleached and die, but luckily, just some and not all.

I decided to built an open canopy so heat would not be trapped and put in to fans on top of the trim. Within a day, temp was at 90.

Last week, corals have started to show some polyps. I've also added some more corals to replace the ones that died.

    1-Blue Tort
    1-Tri Color colony
    1-GARF Bonsai
    1-Becker Tort
    1-Pearlberry
    1-acan
    1-purple green eye chalice
