    Attaching finger leather to rock.

I have a green finger leather that was attached to a very small piece of rock when I bought but it has unattached itself. At the moment I have it sitting in a hole in a rock to keep it erect but it is not doing so well and I want to move it. My dilema is, how do I attach it to something, bearing in mind that I might want to move it again? Can I stick the base into the sand or would that be too low in the tank for T5 lights? Thanks.

i would try superglue. if the base is not slimy like a kenya tree i think this would be your best bet.

Seems to me like a pair of well placed toothpicks stabbed through the base and into the rock would allow it to anchor fine. Just leave in a week and remove.

Thank you both for the suggestions.
So piercing it with a toothpick won't do any damage?

No, i do this with my xenia frags, and just fragged my finger leather using this same method, but some of the bigger ones i wrap a cable tie around the rock and coral and tighten it firm, after about a week i cut it off when its got a hold...

I didn't have any plastic toothpicks so I broke off one spike from a plastic fork. I stabbed it right threw the base, wedged it into my rock, and glued the tooth pick down, now it is fully attached and growing like crazy
