I did an overhaul of my tank (looking for a MIA Wrasse and cleaning/re-routing my overflow equipment, etc).
I was pulling out the powerheads for cleaning, and I'll be damned if my clown fish didn't attack me! I can say I have never before been attacked by a fish, but he went at me like I was food! I had a blast with it... I convinced my 3 yr old nephew to "pet Nemo".. territorial little brat. I guess he thinks hes a shark.

    Good times...

What kind of clown is it? Maroons and tomatoes are notorious for this kind of behavior. I had one that performed electrolysis on me any time I put my hand in the tank. Didn't hurt but scared the beejeezus outta me! :)

My maroon comes after me every time I'm putting food in the BTA (once a week). It does not hurt, but sure was a surprise the first time.

Yeah, it didn't hurt, but it made me jump outta my skin and scream like a little girl! I was definately not expecting that..
My wife got a kick out of it.
    A little bitty fish bullying a 6'7" 400lb man...

Usually perculas are pretty mild mannered but maybe yours didn't read the book that says that they are :)

Luckily, I am a girl and can scream like one whenever I want to

Yeah, I guess it's OK for a girl to sream like a girl!
Quick question... I had a Bubble Anemone, and the clown wouldn't touch it, and could not have cared less about it being in the tank at all. The clown spent most of it's time towards the top of the tank.. The anemone eventually died.

Now the Clown is displaying a different demeanor, rubbing on my LR and shimmying and shaking on the bottom of the tank under the LR and such... Is it possible that the clown was to young to take to the anemone? I was hoping that if I tried to place another one in the tank maybe the fish would take it in.
    Any thoughts?

My maroon clown also attacks me. He started fanning the sand with his tail. Digging little depressions in the sand. The other one will pickup mouthfulls of sand and move it around the tank. This is the smaller of the pair. I keep wondering what one is the girl fishy and what one is the boy fishy. Anyone know how to sex a clownfish?

The smaller clown will eventually become the male so as far as we're concerned, bigger = female and smaller = male.

Jamaica Sun...are there 2 clowns or only one in the tank? The shimmying sounds like submissive behavior. Or it could be that the clown is rubbing against the rock the way that it would rub itself against an anemone when it acclimates itself to the anemone's nematocysts.

I have my pair of perculas they were the first set of fish in my 75. The males all calm and never bothers anyone but the female she chases other fish away from there territory what ever that is at the time since these 2 constanlty change there host. But she has bitten me several times especially when i do a water change she doesnt like me being in her spot. It may take to an anemoe but also they will take to about anything they are not picky about host. Mine have changed host so many times there rotating there way around to everything a 2nd time. Also they have a habit sometimes between host they will sleep in the top corner of the tank laying vertically til the light comes on. Clowns are jsut weird.
