So after buying a juv. emperor angel for half the normal price I usually see at LFS, I placed it in my reef tank. Due to not researching ahead of time, I did not know that the juv would pick at my open brain coral. So in an attempt to train it, I placed a clear plastic container with holes for water flow over the open brain. So now I hope that the juv will be trained to eat the food I put in the tank. Has anyone ever tried anything like this or have any other suggestions? I don't think I can admonish the fish every time it picks at the coral.

I doubt that it will ever be "trained" in that manner. I've had success with dwarf angels by keeping them well fed with proper, varied diet so you might try that. In the end, however, it will be up to the fish.

I "TRAINED" a koran i got.he was tiny bout an inch long.i started by putting him in my fuge and only fed him pellets n flake soaked in garlic. i kept him in there for 3mos then moved him up to main tank.he never nipped at any corals. i have 3 angels in there now (koran, potter, coral beauty) with no problems.BUT all fish are different so be warned!
