Mine seem to like feedings a few times a week, I started with about 5 heads 2 months ago and now up to about 10. My snails have knocked it into the sand face down multiple times in the 2 months. Seems they are pretty hardy. I just feed them whenever I feed my other lps' and sun coral.

they actually require moderate lighting, so with metal halides, keep them low. Also moderate current and as james said, feed them to make them grow faster.

acan are the easiest Aussie to have. Grow like weed. Not slot of light is needed I have all six of mine down the bottom and they still grow like weed

My acans are flourishing. Just keep your parameters rock solid, a must with pretty much any coral for optimal growth. Mine are about half up in my 55 under 2 250watt MH. I target feed mine about once a week with frozen baby brine shrimp.

yeah I have mine about half way down in the MH. I feed mine krill a couple times a week and they are flourishing! I have about 40 polyps on one and about 8 on the other one. They will share nutrition with each other so you dont have to worry about placing krill on each and every polyp (Which is good for the one wiht the 40!) They will plump up in a matter of days after you get them I bet cause in my experience stores and other sites dont feed theirs enough and they are on the verge of starvation when we get them. And they do grow like weeds with proper feedings! Make sure you post a picture when you get them...I have never seen one that dark before! Acans are my favorite coral I think! I am thinking I might be getting close to fragging my large colony soon so I can get some more!
