A piece that I've had for 2 weeks or so. For the first week it was doing excellent. Was open as it should be the entire day and often throughout the evening. The LFS had it placed fairly close to the top and I watched it for 3 weeks or so before purchasing. It's remained closed these last few days. It recently began producing a mucus. Shortly after, it has remained closed even throughout the day. Since the store had it placed fairly high in the tank, I decided to do the same. Since, I've moved it to the sand where it's slightly shaded. Any other suggestions?

What are your parameters? Nitrate and phosphate are important for these guys; they need dirtier water than most other corals.

These corals are harder to keep, even though the australian ones seem to do better. What type of lighting do you have and what type of lighting does the lfs have?

...and the nitrates? It seems the phosphates are high-ish. It's begging for an algae outbreak once the nitrates get to an acceptable level for elegances...
