I've looked at that one as well. Thinking that a float with a backup valve would be a good thing....

But, in two years, my single float valve has yet to give me any problems.... so I'm having a problem parting with the money...

Unless you're some kind of float valve whisperer and the little guy's telling you when he's gonna fail... You're just going to wait for a flood before doing anything about it? :)

I guess it depends how serious of a problem a flood is to you, if it just means a bit of water on a cement floor in the basement it's probably not an issue but in my case in an apartment building it could be a major problem so I'm super paranoid about it. A couple bucks now could save a LOT of headache and money in the future.

EDIT: Also, sorry I don't have any experience with them, I just wanted to chime in that redundancy is a good idea, not only for your floor/house but also for your tank, dropping salinity a ton with a bunch of RO water could crash the tank or at least put some hurt on your tank.

But just to try and help if all you need is dimensions you could always call them, 763-432-9691.

Well for the redundancy, yes yes yes. I am also looking at the digital timer as they show in the video. So that is three backups...

So, no one has had experience with them...???

The building related consequences of a flood, with my new setup, is only that water runs down the floor drain a few inches away from the sump... I have conceded to the fact that, no matter how careful I am, I spill water on the floor during maintenance cycles, thus the reason my wife wanted all the supporting equipment out of the living room!

But with a 75g/day RO/DI unit paired with a 75g tank mounted in the overhead....

It is very possible for me to convert to a fresh water tank in just 2 or 3 of days...

I would like to add the solenoid valve to the supply side for the RO/DI and run it off of one of the Reefkeeper Elite channels on a timing cycle which enables the production of RO/DI water every couple of days. This should extend the life of the unit and go towards reducing the risk of converting to a fresh water tank...
