Auto Top off in 29g biocube?

I've herd a lot of good things about the jbj auto top off system but have a few doubts. the top off system works off of floats. i am nervous to install this and come home one day to a flood. can anybody give me their opinion and let me know if they have had/ herd of any disasters caused by ato's.

 

I had a float switch for over a year in my return chamber on my old 29 BC. I never had an issue. As long as you clean the float valve every once in a while, it will work as it should

 

ima definitely follow this. my girlfriend just bought a 29g biocube whichs means i have to maintain two tanks.

 

I ran the JBJ for 8 months, I installed both switches inside chamber 3 to prevent any overflow.

Basically failsafe.

 

I have been using this for ATO for 4 weeks and I love it. Only thing CLOSE to an issue was I knocked one of the floats sort of sideways and it put 1 inch extra water in my sump.

It has a 3.5 minute emergency shut off do if your pump doesn't fill it in that time period you have to open it up and adjust it. It goes all the way up to 17 minutes.
