So I am finally sick of manually filling my tank everyday. I am trying to decide which switch to buy. Either a Single or Double Switch from: AutoTopoff.com

Single runs about $30 and Double runs about $50..not including a pump so I need to purchase that too. (or is there a cheaper ATO that I can purchase?)

Please help me decide which one would be better.

    Thank you!

I have the JBJ ATO and it includes 2 switches. I like having two, this way I can prevent an overflow in my tank..

I'm curious as to how the dual switch works. It looks like if both floats have to be active for the pump to kick on you would have to have about 3 inches of evaporation. Can anyone help explain that. I looking to get an ATO from autotopoff.com as well.

The first one is the trigger same as a single one. The 2nd is a back up incase the first one goes bunk on you. In normal operation the 2nd one never gets triggered. It's mounted above the water line you want and only gets triggered if the first one doesn't turn off the ato and the water keeps going up!

I bought a Tunze Ozmolator a bit ago with a 10g reservoir and it was prob one of the best Reef purchases I ever made. The Tunze's are on the higher-end of the ATO's but for the investment I have made into my tank it was worth it IMO.

You can't go wrong with autotopoff.com, been using the double for 3 months now and never had any issues. My SG is very stable since then.
