I know this has been discussed and I've read many threads on this, but I still kinda need to know what's the easiest ATO system out there.

Basically I want to put a 5 Gallon bucket under my tank where the sump is and have a float switch in the sump and a line from that going to a little pump in the 5 gallon bucket. When the water gets low it should turn on the pump, fill up and shut the pump off.

What are the recommended ways to do this. Here are a few links I found and I also see similar items on Ebay, but my head is spinning because there are so many to choose from.

JBJ Automatic Top Off (A.T.O.) System Water Level Controller Images

    Eshopps Float Valve Auto-Top

Gap Products Level-Loc Automatic Top Off (ATO) Unit

I could just use some guidance as to which way to go and what little pump to get. I am not looking for anything too complex, but I want something that will not fail.

    Thanks!

Simple is better when it comes to an ATO. I like the design of the Eshopps model you linked. That one doesn't even need a pump. It is a gravity feed design, so basically you hook up a line from the bottom of your reservoir that runs to the float valve and when the water level drops the float valve opens up allowing FW to flow through. This type also requires that the reservoir be elevated over the sump, so keep that in mind when picking.

Here's the one I use. Cheap and easy! Can't complain. Small pump is all you need to add.

I use a MaxiJet 1200 to move water from my bucket to the sump - these are pretty robust and can take repeated turning on and off. I use a Tsunami ATI setup for my system for the last year and its worked great. As stated though simplest is best if you can go that way.
