In that case, I would feed them heavily before you leave and not worry about feeding them while you're gone. I only worry about feeding fish if I go away for a week or more.

You probably need to worry more about an automatic topoff system then you need to worry about a auto feeder.

In my experience those autofeeders do not work as accuratly as advertised, and can go haywire causeing a big mess. Shop around and get a good one. I have no recommendations - someone here might...

I set up a very simple, almost fail safe topoff system to use when traveling...

With a Kent Reverse Osmosis Float Valve, or Marinedepot $17.99

I set up a large oriental flower vase that holds about 15 gallons of water (just use a plastic garbage pail) on stand next to tank (wife likes look of flower vase)...

Using the above float valve in sump set to level I want to keep in sump, it works like a charm.

Very simple and effective...and again, almost failsafe.

PS: Make sure to leave AC at level that will maintain tank temp.

Also take along some "Ambien" or other "sleep drug" so you will not stay up fretting all night...have heard prozac works as well - :p)
