I know folks who use the Eheim one and like it. I am going to go with the Current USA Aqua Chef myself. I can't see not liking it.

ive looked at them, but im not sure if they would work. I feed a mixture of flake and pellet. If the auto feeder had flake in it, surely it would just dump the flake onto the surface and it would stay there untill it got skimmed. when i feed flake i have a small scoop that i put the flake in, fill it with water and then dump it, so i dont get any floating on the surface.
    Any thoughts?

Yeah if you're feeding flake there's nothing that's going to make it get under the surface. I feed pellets but only as a supplement. The only fish I feed flake to are fish destined to go to customers who won't feed anything else but. Even then I hold the pinch under water and then let go so it doesn't float. I don't think there's a simple remedy for that problem when feeding flake with auto feeders.

With those fish, I would only feed flake. Brine shrimp have little to no nutritional value so if you absolutely must feed frozen shrimp, I would switch to mysis.
