Is there any way to purge an uploaded Avatar out of the system and replace it with a new one. I have tried several times to overwrite it but it didn't work. I used a different file name, the same file name etc. Right now I am using  I'm using one that I put on my webserver, not that that is a problem but sometimes my webserver is flaky because the volume of e mail that is going through it (not  usually). Besides having it reside locally, there, on the 3Reef server is a little faster, not much, but a little. I know I can upload it to the photo gallery.

It isn't a big deal, I was just curious and your server doesn't need any more clutter than necessary.

If there is a Head Honcho out there that can delete them
feel free. I can stay with the one on my server.

All of you at 3Reef are just amazing, the moderators, the quests and especially all the members. You are a veritable wellspring of knowledge, and I really appreciate your being here for me to pick your brains.

So are you saying when using upload avatar here at 3reef, it won't overwrite the first one you uploaded?
    It is supposed too...
If you would like, email me the one you want to use and I'll try it on my end by logging in as you.

    Ok.. I did some tests...

First I logged in on a test account and tested it out. Worked fine.

Then I logged in as you dx7fd2 and didn't have a problem either as you can see the smilie avatar I uploaded.

After you upload it, it takes you back to your 'modify' profile page.

Here it should still say whatever your username is as the avatar. You won't see a change there because it always uses your username.

Go back to the forum index page and click on your name in the users online section to see your 'view' profile. You should see your new avatar. If it's cached, hold down the shift key and reload.

    So far, I don't see a problem.

If your avatar is over 20kb, it will tell you and you will have to upload a smaller one.

Let me know if this helps or not.

    Matt

That worked Matt, there might have been some wacko glitch on this end, or it's possible that I did not reload after changing it.

    My Bad :-/
<----See, there he is! I spent at least an hour creating that ugly little guy. Have any idea what kind of pod it is?

    Thank you and yours

    Thanks for the karma...
You seriously wanted to know what kind of pod that was? (OH NO! GOING OFF TOPIC AGAIN! ::) )

Looks similar to something I pulled out of the local waters here in Northern Cali.

    Check it out.
