Reminds me when I had a boat and lived on the banana river in Florida. One night we were coming back from a restaurant and the bioluminescence was so bright you could just about read a book by the turbulence behind the boat. When you reached into the water and cupped out some in your hand, it looked like glowing green nectar flowing out of your hand. We stayed out on the water for hours playing with it.

It looked like a differing colored abscinthe. We used to got out a catch grunion & use a couple to snag a few halibut. Usually no keepers though but it was just great being out there at the mouth of the San Diego River after midnight.....people out walking around with their dogs.
