You were right, I was wrong
you are smart, I am dumb
your are handsome, I am ugly

    lol
Anyways, I'm sure ya know the story, Got the AquaFX unit, which is fine, but 50gpd isn't enough, and I only get 100g of water out of a a DI resin pack, and I even run it to rinse the new filters out without the DI resin. My water quality here is HORRIBLE, over 600 TDS somedays, and high in nitrates and silica, but 100 gallons out of a DI resin seems awful

    TIA

    Convert it to...what?

You can speed up water production by switching to a 75 gpd membrane (with a matching flow restrictor). However, this switch isn't going to make your DI last longer.

Do you have adequate pressure for the membrane to operate?

What is the TDS reading from your RO (not DI) water?

    Are you on well water?

Go order the spectra pure filters for your unit. The aqua fx housing is still good. Just install the amazing spectra pure filters.

Thx Russ, should've bought yours or the spectra pure. I basically wanna upgrade the GPD, and upgrade the RO quality to help save my DI resin

    pressure is around 60psi
TDS from the RO only part is about 15-20, which seems high, not sure though
not well water, just real crappy water, old system where I live, that has a huge nitrate problem(the city water here, not my tank ;))

As Russ pointed out, knowing your water pressure is important as low pressures give low membrane performance, 60 psi is good though. Also what is your water temperature and your measured waste ratio? These are all important pieces of information.

15-20 TDS from 600 is not very good but within the acceptable range for a standard dry untested and untreated membrane at 96-97%. By comparison my Select membrane is giving me 99.6% right now, (580 tap TDS and 2.3 RO only TDS). Makes DI last a long long time and that membrane is over 4 years old.

One of Spectrapures Select series hand tested, 98+% high rejection rate 90 GPD RO membranes and matched flow restrictor will make any DI last longer. Add their SilicaBuster or Super SilicaBuster and it will last much longer still.
Protect it all with a 0.5 micron absolute rated sediment filter and 0.5 micron carbon block and you have the best of everything.

    Thx AZ

rejection rate is about 4 to 1, temp about 64 degrees. I just added BRS 1 micron sediment filter and 1 micron carbon block.

So the spectra pure 90gpd RO membrane will fit in this unit, or the Buckeye files supply? Sorry kinda partial to any company named Buckeye

    O H I O;)

    Thanks for the help

Yes, your membrane housing holds a standard 1812 series size membrane.

64 seems pretty warm for water in Ohio, mine is 58 to 60 in Phoenix.
