If you have two mp10s on a 20g you should be getting plenty of surface agitation...if not something js wrong

I'm not really sold on the idea of the pico shield. The only reason I am getting the sandstorm is because of the undertow and if I put the shield on I basically kill the undertow and have a pump that is just blasting out water going forward. Just my thought process on them.

I like toys!! ;D Besides that the one cube which for a Baby Brine Shrimp Cube is actually half a cube if that doesn't really present my as being a huge factor since my water quality parameters have been falling into place nicely. Just my thoughts.

Well one of the units is an MP10w and the other is as MP10. I just ordered the wireless RF Module to install on the non wireless unit. I'm hoping that once I sync the pumps they will be able to work together better and provide better flow without the sandstorms. Well just have to wait a few days.

The rf module may help...but really one mp10 should be plenty on a 20g

dude you dont need any more powerheads. try repositioning the mp10s. even not turned all the way up you have at least a 100 times turn over in that tank, more than enough for anything.

Exactly. If your having sandstorm problems, the answer obviously isn't to add more powerheads

If you move one of the MP10's so that the stream hits the top of one of your rock structures, it should redirect some flow towards the surface without distrubing your sand. I would try this before adding more powerheads.

In fact, I would say to spend some of that money you were going to spend on the powerheads on a skimmer box. This way your skimmer will see skimmed water and hopefully get rid of your excess protein/DOC issues, and help with surface agitation.
