Hi, I recently have purchased a small, i would say 1/2 inch, blue/hippo tang. I currently own an 8 gallon bio cube with a few pieces of live rock and coral. Don't jump on me yet, in 5-6 months I will be upgrading to a much larger tank. Will this be o.k? I have heard from some people it would be fine, and worst case scenario if I don't end up with the tank (not likely) I could sell her off when she gets too big for the tank or give her to a friend. I would really like to raise this fish for as long as possible. Opinions?

Id start getting that tank setup now, that little fish will be well up to 2-4 inches within a few months, and you would need time to cycle that tank. And Tangs have a huge bioload, which means it will probably cause the parameters to shift very easy in that 8g biocube.

Hmm, didn't I just read a post about somebody's pet peeves? A tang in a tank less than 48". Someone getting a fish now, planning on upgrading later? LOL, perfect timing to read those threads back to back!
