Baby Box FIsh!

Title says it all. Its a baby box fish!
isnt it the cutest thing ever?
I heard it nips on corals though. Can somebody verify on this?

LA-This is a very difficult fish to keep in the aquarium setting by any other than the most experienced aquarist. It should have a minimum of a 125 gallon tank. Use caution if placing the Boxfish in a reef tank as they will often nibble at tubeworms. If stressed or killed, the Boxfish releases a poisonous substance, called ostracitoxin, from its mucous glands which will kill other fish in the tank very quickly.

 

Just an added word of caution - do not put floating food or flakes to feed a box fish. They are clumsy eaters and can ingest air that messes with their swim bladders.

they are very cute - must be in a passive type aquarium NO anemone's

I caught one that was just like that in a 105f tide pool in SC. Very cute .

Fish with personality are a hoot!

I brought a GSP over to full salt around 2 years ago and would love to have him in the reef but he's got his own tank because I don't need him messing with my other fish, eating my CUC and possibly nipping coral...

 

oh wow they are harder to keep than i thought
thats just too bad like many other cute things......
