last night my tank lights were out and my son turned 1 light on. he called me to hurry and look and to my surprise i saw what looked like a baby brittle or serpent star. its about a the size of a pea. could my brittle had a baby? i only have 1 and had him for a year so i think not. is there a brittle or serpent that is that small that was living in my live rock this whole time? it is also white in color.

It is probably a hitchhiker star. I have alot of them. They dont get any bigger. Kind of fun to watch. How much liverock do you have? You probably have more in there than you think.

Yup, I have one of those. Has 6 legs, is white and has tiny black vertical markings. Looks like a brittle, but just might be another species, this thing was tiny, the center of his body was probably bigger than an ordinary dot. I saw him cruising my rear glass looking for rockwork. I still haven't found what species it is exactly. Hopefully it's harmless.

My bro got these nasty tiny stars as hitchikers that were munching on his corraline algea, luckily, he managed to get one out.

Can't say much other than what has already been said. Just watch it and drop a very small piece of clam or squid in for it about 2x a week and watch it grow. If you notice that it is starting to eat stuff that you do not want eaten--pull it out and do what you see fit for it.
