    Great link

although 13 months lifespan was a bit saddening
and the way they age and what happens to them towards end of lifespan
puts me off wanting to ever try keeping these fascinating creatures

Octopi go through senescence as well. It's absolutely heartbreaking to watch an animal who used to love to climb in and out of his hamster ball and wave around his plastic keys (made for toddlers to play with) not even recognize food.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I really enjoyed the video. I imagine since they are probably tied into a huge system all that ink causes no problems.

It is heartbreaking to watch the decline as they age, you know it is coming but not a thing you can do about it. My octopi stopped eating about a month before the end. They are truly amazing smart animals that appear to enjoy human interaction if captured young.

I have never tried cuttlefish but I am going to, it is my next wish tank.

    ;D

    hahahahaha! It really did!

I absolutely adore cuttlefish. I visited a friend in Scotland for 6 weeks (who has since written a book on cephs in the aquarium) and he had one. First time I had ever been exposed to one & it was the most awesome creature ever. He liked to go into breeding colors whenever I was around the tank and we went and caught crabs from tidepools to feed him (feeding him those was an experience for me & the cuttlefish LOL). I had a TON of great pics of him, but I lost all of them (and most of my other pics) somehow shortly after I got back from that trip.

I did have a nightmare about a cuttlefish last night. It kept biting me and making my leg go numb. I woke up with my leg asleep LOL. I guess that's what I get for laughing about the one hitting the glass!

Very interesting creatures. I did not read thee link yet, but do they basically starve themselves toward the end of their life, like octopi do?
