    Well I can only tell you what I have had first hand experience with. I have kept all kinds of clowns with many different anemones, like carpets, sebae, condy and BTA and not once did the fish change it's coloration secondary to the type of anemone.

    Clown fish coloration will shift or change in a response to stress and health, so first I would wait for them to get older and second I would rule out other causes for possible decreased coloration.

    A 55 gal is too small for one of the hardest anemones to keep a Magnifica, not an anemone I would take on. Not worth taking it from the wild. They need PRISTINE water conditions and the best lighting you can buy.

    Not the answer you are looking for, but just being honest. Curious to see if more than one person has had a different experience.
