Baby starfish?

    Is this a baby chocolate chip star?....i found it in the aqarium on a tube...i had a chocolate chip star in the tank about 5 months ago...but has since been gone because it didnt play well with others...now i see this...its VERY small...any ideas?

    Cool..thanks...was worried..so the consensus is they are harmless... will they get bigger or is that their adult size?

    some will eat coral polyps, most seem harmless. I have at least a dozen in my tank and they don't bother anything. They're very hard to find, if you have one you probably have a dozen.

    Harlequin shrimp will devour them if they get to plague proportions or start to eat corals.

    yea ive heard about them eating coral... i was told their bad for coral reef tanks...

    they are known to eat coraline, but i have spotted about 8 in my tank and the very itty bitty bit of corraline i have is still there, although i have heard of cases of ALL the coraline being destroyed.

    i actually hadnt seen any of the stars untill last night, i did some re-aranging about a month ago and hadn't seen any since.

    I have them all over my tank and I still have very healthy corals and lots of coraline algea and not much bad algea. Take it as you want.
