Thank you. First time I've ever done things slowly and I'm enjoying the build.
The gyre is great for the power. I actually have zero quarrels with it.
I love the mp40 too. I've wanted one of these pumps since its inception. And I'm thrilled that I finally have one now. I love the fact that I could control the mp40 with my phone. Pretty cool. I dislike that it's pretty loud when I have it on full speed but I can easily ignore that.

Thanks. I've decided to keep them. I like than a lot and I am now more pleased with them as I have them mounted higher above the water surface. I previously had them too close to the water surface and the fans stopped working and I had to replace them.

How low did you have them? I have mine 10 inches off the water and haven't had any problems with the fans. Now I wonder if I should raise them a little bit since I've only hand them running for about 7 weeks now.

I had them about 6-8" off the water surface. I put them that low because I had some halides over the tank prior to the LEDs and assumed that the LEDs weren't going to be as powerful.
They got quite a bit of moisture but never really direct splashing. Also they were gen 1 radions.
I don't think you will have any issues as long as there's not a whole lot of splashing going on under them.

good to hear. I don't have any splashing going on but remembering a picture you had posted your lights looked rather high so I got a little nervous when you said you had fan problems.

I love my radions all the options available and low heat output.

I haven't had to run a chiller and my temp runs between 77 - 78. Summers shouldn't be bad because we keep the air conditioner on during the two days we need it. :) Okay maybe 4 days out of the year that we need it.

Lucky you. Year round my smaller tanks run about 86F without a chiller. Surprisingly this new tank goes up to about 82.5F still waiting on my chiller to arrive. All fish and corals seem quite happy "knock on wood"
A local coral (porites) that I've always had problems keeping is doing amazingly well.

Took a chance and put the copperband in my DT today. He's already picking at the feather dusters and other tube worms on the rock.
A blue damsel is giving him a bit of a hard time. But overall he seems so much happier in here than he was in the bio cube. image.jpg

I like the list. I see you are as much a fan of tangs as I am. They are the main reason Im working on a large tank. Will the Hippo and Naso have issues once they have very similar body shape? I ll have to find a link to a tang compatibility article i saw posted a while back. Not currently having a naso really bothers me!
