Not really about reef aquariums, but thought I'd share. Went to Cuba with my wife. Did 2 dives at the Bay of Pigs and 1 on the resort. I will have pics once the people I dove with e-mail them to me.

Anyhoo, first dive at the Bay of Pigs went down to about 90' down the wall. Great coral and fish, it's incredible seeing it all in it's natural environment. Second dive was down to a wreck. Got stung by 4 jellyfish. Babies, but it was like an underwater bee sting. Little bastards.

Then did a dive off the resort. About 100'. This was a great one. Following the divemaster we were going through some small caves and caverns. Got a little tight, so I was about to pull out when the divemaster called me over. Saw a 6' nurse shark just hanging out on the bottom, followed by 3-4 basketball sized lion fish. Continued the dive to encounter a school of angels, not sure of the species, but they were yellow and blue. They were a good 14" long. Continued the dive, and was visited by a school of at least 50-60 big size fish. Again, not sure of the species, but they were silver, flat, and round. Finally, while doing our safety stop, we were circled by about 6 very curious baracuda fish. It was awesome.

The next night my wife and I went for a walk down the beach. On the way back, I nearly stepped on what looked like a rock or piece of drift wood. I looked closer, and saw an eyeball staring back at me. There was a storm coming in so the waves were pretty strong. The guy must have washed up onto the beach. Using my sandles I touched it to see if it was alive, and it flipped over. The bottom of it looked like it had little fin feet, it was weird. It opened it's mouth, so it was clearly still alive. I picked it up with my sandals and tossed it well into the water. It took off swimming. Not sure what it was. Still can't find a picture that remotely resembles it. It had a hard top/exoskeleton, with a horn coming straight forward out of it's head.

Man, what a trip. Sorry to ramble on, but I figured I'd share all the cool things I saw. Like I said, once I get some pics e-mailed to me, I will post them.

    cheers.

Unfortunately yes. It's amazing how the entire week, I had absolutely no stress, no worries, nothing bothered me. It was a great feeling.

I think my next investment before my next trip will be a good quality digital camera with an underwater housing. Got my disposable camera pics developed. GARBAGE! The pics suck. Hopefully my dive partners will e-mail me the good ones they took with their cameras.

I purchased an old school dive camera years ago when I did a lot of diving in the florida keys. Best underwater photos I have even taken was with one of these. Try on ebay for some of the older ones.
