I started reefkeeping 12 years ago and was heavily into SPS corals and fragging. Unfortunately I had a major tank crash about the same time my daughter was born and decided to take a hiatus from the hobby. Fairly recently my neighbor showed me a reef tank he was building and I told him about my past experiences with reef tanks. Just like that I was hooked again.

Some of you older reefers out there might know me by my old screen name Nemosreef. I made a ton of great friends in this hobby, hopefully I can reconnect with them and make many new ones. Reefers truely are a great group of people.

While I don't consider myself a newbie there have been many advances since I was first in the hobby. You should always learn and keep an open mind to new concepts. I am just taking it slow and soaking it all in trying to read up on all the latest trends. Forums have always been my favorite source of new ideas and cutting edge techniques. Your board has a lot of great information and I look forward reading every bit that I can.

    Thanks,
    Bill

For those of you joining us that are new to the hobby - the best piece of advice you'll get around here as a saltwater newbie is 3Reef's slogan
    "Go slow, let it grow."
And for those experianced hobbyists joining us - it's still good advice :p
good luck and post pics soon :)

Tangster, yep I had the mother of all deep sand beds with a jaurbert plenum to boot..ha,ha,ha!! Hey that was cutting edge and it worked great for me. It was also back in the day when you couldn't find a fragged coral in a store. The hobbiest was way ahead of the game and had the best corals to offer.

Yes I am going all SPS eventually. Once you get them it's in your blood for life.

Thanks all for the welcome's. It's great to be back in the hobby again. I'm looking forward to reading all of the advances you all are making.
