Well, we're back into the fish game after the death of our poor starving 6-spot sleeper goby.

    Orbic cardinals, one big

    one small

Orange-spotted shrimp goby and my new GSP (yes, I want it to take over LOL)

My boyfriend had the gobies bagged before I finished browsing, so they were his picks. He picked another 6-spot goby too, and so far it's the only fish I named, given us nothing but trouble from the minute he was put into the bag at the store (he was all calm in the tank with the orange spotted). Name starts with a capital A and has an h in the middle, which I promptly named him after having to fish him out of the overflow already (which is now more securely covered). He's currently behaving because my boyfriend threatened him with the net LOL. Apparently the "pacing" crap is a 6-spot trait, because that's what the one I picked did. No pics of him, but he looks just like the last one but bigger (and fatter).

And 2 of these tiny little guys (candy pistols), one of which I can hear snapping in the home he made under the rock I put the GSP on. Its the one he landed on after acclimation & he's already got himself a great little burrow going. Not sure if the other one has made its way to the bottom from the rock it landed on on the other side of the tank. Man, these guys are the size of sexy shrimp right now...absolutely tiny!

The LFS also had strombus snails, which I love, so I got 5 of those & they're currently cleaning the refugium, where hopefully they'll start laying eggs soon. No pics of those.

The cardinals ate & are playing in the PH current, A is finally sifting sand & checking to see if I'm watching him (I am), and Orange-spotted is perched on a small rock in front of A, keeping an eye on ME LOL. They're all on this side of the tank since we're sitting on this side. The cardinals follow us wherever we happen to go.

Currently watching all parameters and the newly built/painted/stained hood is in the garage awaiting another staining, screen attaching, and lights added.

And, as i was writing all this, A attacked orange-spot & pinned him against the glass LOL.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Congradulations, they all sound like great additions.

I really like orange spot gobies, they have cute little faces.

    :)

Thanks! Yeah, the orange-spot is a cutie. He's a tad shy right now, but not jumpy. I think A went to bed in a burrow in the back of the tank finally. I had to rig some screen across the back to try to keep him in.

Congrats on the addition, SushiGirl! I love that pretty, misbehaved goby :D
I also have a Candy Pistol shrimp, and did not know his name until you mentioned it, so thanks for that!! I name my shrimp Idioto, since he keep digging and doping this one piece of cork on top of himself and the oblique lined goby that he digs for, names sea chicken, or seacken for short, since he never leaves his network of burrows and darts in them as soon as there's movement around. :D

Thanks, Steve. Yeah, I like GSP too, never had it before. I'm hoping it grows up the overflow LOL.

som3, I'm sure hoping so, but no joy yet. The gobies are too busy getting along one minute, and threatening each other the next! One of the shrimp is still in the rock on the top of the stack that he landed on. Every time the cardinals eyeball the rock it snaps, but I can't see it. The other is over in the small side between the overflow and the front of the tank, it's already moved its opening all around the base, closing the old ones as it goes. It snaps more often, not sure why.

    Thanks TSG!

Magnus, we'll see how he fares. He has about 5 burrows going, and got his butt kicked by the other goby & the red crab simultaneously earlier LOL. He was pacing when we each got home, but when we moved the canopy, he hid. Then I fed them immediately after putting it back on & gosh he's a pig!!! He posed for pics and is happily sifting sand right now.

We got our newly-built canopy together enough to put it on tonight, and man the lights are awesome!!! 4 T5's and 2 LED moonlights (our previous LED strips were half burned out). The cardinals, emeralds, and shrimp are now finding shady spots, and the hermits, gobies, and corals are happy campers!

Oh, and when I turned on the new lights, someone spawned. We both died laughing. I think it was a cerith. I told my boyfriend that someone was happier about his lights than him!

    Congrats on the adds.
Hope your Randall's/candy cane shrimp (Alpheus randalli) doesn't hide for 6 months like mine did. I wasn't even sure he was really still alive.
The good news is when I got it Ruger (the shrimp) he was like 3/4 of an inch to maybe an inch and is now 2".
