I finally got my passion back for the saltwater hobby and started working on my tanks and actually getting excited about them again. As many on here know, back in September I suffered a palythoa exposure that was very bad and painful, and left me legally blind in my left eye. It took several months for me to get over. I lost all interest in keeping or maintaining any of our tanks and the tanks suffered. While we didnt loose many fish, we either gave away or lost a lot of our corals. I quit my part time job at a LFS that helped support my habit and really hadnt even visited one in probably 7 months.

I debated taken the tanks down all together, but took the advice given by many on here, including from myself..........wait before doing anything drastic. I am glad, because slowly but surely the bug got back into me. I started lurking again on here and visited the LFS here and there. Finally, over the last several days I have decided to focus on our SPS tank and have worked at getting it back into shape. I aquascaped, removed all the algea and am now waiting for the mini-cycle. Excited about getting this one back in shape and eventually leading up to putting up our 150g tank that has been sitting empty for the longest time.

Here you can see the pictures of the tank before injury!

I"m so glad to see you getting back on that proverbial horse! Keep us updated! I know what it's like to let your tank go and finally get the bug back after a while.

    Welcome back Mel.

Leave to the Pavona to be the last coral standing. Wow on the coralline.
