I have a pajama cardinal & a firefish. They spend 90% of the time in the back of the tank on the other side of my rock.

This sound familiar to anyone? How can I bring them forward?

Just a thought but what do you have for flow in the tank and where is it concentrated? Thinking maybe there is too much flow out front, so they are chilling out back?

I have most of my flow behind my rock work, everyone is out in the front.

Cardinals like to hang out in caves, under overhangs, etc. Not surprising that they hang in the back

I thought that at one point. So I have the flow at the back. Yet they stay there.

Maybe there's too much traffic in front of the tank and it makes them nervous.

Also, what size tank, how much rock, and how are the rocks arranged? IMOPE, it takes a lot of rock with lots of holes and caves to make a couple of shy reef fish feel secure.

It's a 40G. They are the only fish. There is probably 1-2" less of rock in the back. But is still spacious.

Boy I really needed to hear this. I've had 1 FF for 2 years. Only come out of hiding to eat. So last week I bought another in hopes of bringing old one out of hiding. First couple days it worked. I was so happy! Today they both hide all the time and only come out to eat :(
