Not sure if this is posted but I have aluminum foil as my background. Found the idea on another site...Just cut it to size, crumple it and tape it onto the tank... Kinda looks like rocks (can see it in my pic to the left :))

Better then paying out $$ for pictures :)

    Hope someone likes the idea.

You will have heat issues. I used it once on a ghetto tank just to see if I could get a lot of extra reflective light, didnt think about the heat issue until I was evaporating about 1g a day on a 20g.

I think by far the easiest and best looking method is to paint the back of the tank... you dont have to deal with the air bubbles that get under the plastic picture stuff... and also i dont think fish are real fond of their own reflections or so i hear :) just my 2 cents

I prefer to grow coralline all over the back.

Have you noticed any difference, since you put it on there? Also, I'd prefer coralline covering the back too, but I just can't seem to get it going. Only in little spots on my rocks.......:-/

The back of my tank is painted black. Makes everything stand out more, IMO. Hopefully it will be covered in coralline one day.

I paint mine black too just so you don't get any salt creep or bubbles behind there. The black does make things stick out more especially colorful fish.
