I broke my right hand today. I also broke the pinky on my left hand. I was helping a neighbor change a flat tire. One of the lug nuts was very very tight. I got my breaker bar and pushed down with all I had. The stud broke and both my hands smashed into the cement. I had figured a way to "punch" the cement with every ounce of power i could put together.

I get to see a specialist tomorrow to see if I need surgery. All because I wanted to help. Sucks to be me!!

That sucks. You should send him the bill as a joke.

I learned a long time ago to step on the bar. I am sure its not good, but it saves your knuckles.

I'm with you on that, shoes can take a lot more than hands can when it comes to hitting cement or asphalt.

I've seen people punch themselves in the face that way as well. There really isn't any real good way to remove lug nuts manually.

The old "T" wrench was the best. you could pull with your arms and push with your foot at the same time. The good old days gone forever.
