well i guest some of you guys read my trend where my mushroom ate my peppermint strimp well after a coupple days he was all bloted with some thing moveing inside thought nothing of it but then i thought maby he also ate some hermit crabs so i did a head count and got nowhere close so i did a test and put a hermit crab on him and he closed over it watched him the whole time and when he re opened nothing so i decide to take him off that rock and cut him off in aseprate container when i did i found 3 dead hermits in side

has anyone ever heard of this or had this ever happen?

he is now in a container in my 45 going to get him to attach him to a rock and i'm carrying him back to my lfs for store credit

No, but I did see my peppermint shrimp trying to get out a hermit crab out of its shell this morning. A Blue hermit. Couldn't believe my eyes!

I remember your other thread... that's really neat (sad though) to see nature in action!

I think shrooms are some what related to anemones, they can move around like anenomes, to find better conditions. The anemone of course moves with its foot, the shroom will usually just let loose and let the current move it around and reattach some where else. Thats the little info I know of on how they relate, someone with more knowledge could probably provide a lot more info. :)

LOL! i love mushrooms, just not when they eat my livestock! Ive heard of the hairy shrooms known to eat fish and whatnot, but not sure about a smoother one like that. Kind of weird, doesn't even really look all that big, especially to be able to eat a shrimp! was it a tiny shrimp??
