OK I have bad news but it really means good news. As some of you know I have a problem with digitate hydroids and I tried to super glue them in the rock but they just found new holes to escape from. So I am tearing down my 75 gallon. I admit that I bought second grade stuff for this tank and I am not happy with it. So the good news. I am now in the position to upgrade. I am not going to skimp this time. I am looking at getting a 150 or 180 gallon 6 foot long tank with stand and canopy brand new. I plan on using my 75 for a sump and fuge. So now for the suggestions from you guys. The only thing I am using from this tank is the rock that will be nuked and the 2 koralia #3's and 2 x 65 watt PC for the fuge. So now I need suggestions for skimmer, lighting, power heads and anything else I need to get for this tank. I am leaning more towards the 180 and my 75 for sump/fuge for more water. Thanks for your help in advance and I want to have this set up and cycling by the middle of next month.

Why go 150 or 180 when you can go 300 with a 150 gallon sump? Thats my motto!

Don't mean to do that to ya LG but I just want to get what I really want this time and do it while I am able to. You know what I mean. And I wish I could go 300 but no room. I am tired of the 75 because it was not done right and I want bigger.

I actually really like 30s which is why i have two of them. :)

It's small but in a good way as in i can clean it fairly efficiently, don't have to do extreme water changes (as in extremely often in small tanks and extremely large amounts of water in large tanks) and i can still have a decent amount of fish in them as well.

Are you going to keep the 30 up, or just the 55? (you COULD use the 30 as a quarantine or a big fuge)

Yea actually you don't know how hard it is finding someone to build a metal stand for the 300.

scenario1313, im not into suggesting actual equipment for people anymore due to everyones personal tastes and budgets plus no one listens. But i can say that saltycritter.com (where i have been shopping for 4 years now) wont sell anything that doesnt perform. I have used nearly everything they sell in one tank or the other and all works very well. From skimmers to lighting i havent had a complaint. Im not saying u should buy from them but just take a look at the equipment they sell and see if any of it appeals to u to look into buying it. They have super expensive and less expensive equipment in nearly every category but the more it is usually means the nicer it is. Any way u cut it for nice stuff on a 180 is gonna be pricey, even more pricey if u buy what u can afford and buy what u want later. Id give myself the xtra time to save and get what u really want. Any questions on any of the stuff u see and like on their site let me know and i can tell u my personal experience with it if i delt with it before.

The time of saving has come to and end for me and I thank you luvreefs23 for the site. I will check them out and like I said I am not skimping on this one. Thanks to my good fortune luck on my side I am now able to get this and do it right the first time.

i didn't even know you had this thread up when i commented in other one lol.

for skimmers i have heard good things about octopuses. they are the only ones i see at the lfs anymore they stopped carrying the others. also my coralife 125 does a decent job, its not amazing but it gets the job done.
what depth are the tanks your looking at? i don't buy any tank i can't reach the bottom of....
hmm i may forgo this rule if the tanks big enough for me to snorkel.
