U could try a UV filter in there and it should take care of the problem.

If that doesnt work, you can try a glass fish tank. I keep mine in a plastic tub. I never smell anything.

Once a yr. I bleach both my salt and fresh water holding tanks , Simply fill it with tap water pour a gallon of bleach in and let it , the tub is a bacterial slime built up on the inside walls .. Then rinse it and allow it to air dry outside if possible . May also want to test the R/O membrane many will store them for a few weeks in between usage nd then that will also bloom with bacteria.. If you do store the R/O simply put the membrane in a zip Lock and in the refrigerator .

Would keeping your holding tanks covered and sealed help?? If anything, it might help slow the process of bacteria growing.

I was having this problem. I just keep the surface of the water agitated with a powerhead and it hasn't come back

Each of our holding tanks hold approximately 55 gallons of water.

The filters are bad. Use a TDS Meter to ensure low TDS.
