idk about the snails but the tube in the sand is a brissle worm tube and the coral is a green flower pot (gonipora) :)

Yes rinse the new sand well. Use a pillow cover to wash the sand. Rinse clean with Ro water. Also, Krylon fusion is a good reef safe paint. But I would be careful not to spray it into your tank. Cover it first.

+1 on the goniopora. The pic before it looks like a featherduster tube.

where did you get the snails from?

I used black latex pain with a sponge roller.

I would definetly rinse the sand before hand what kind of sand are you getting?

I've never known bristle worms to build tubes, only tube worms, such as featherdusters.

Only rinse the sand if you get DRY sand. Rinsing live sand will kill everything in it and cause a major ammonia spike.

maybe im not to sure but i use to have a few of them in my tank and my wrasse would dig to them and eat the pinkish red worms inside. and at night clear strings would come out of the tubes but i have never seen a feather duster come out of the ones i had in my tank. most of the small feather duster have a harder calcium based tude. I am no expert just my personal experience lol
