so i got home from work 15 mins ago, and i had recently installed an ato unit, i ran tubing from a 25 gallon tote to my sump, so heres what happened, water level dropped, pump kicked on, and some how the pressure shot the tubing out of my sump, so.. End results is a wet floor, no biggie, BUT my stand is one i purchased with my tank, and is pressure board on top, and bottom, the bubbled... I cant open the glass door on it now... I took a dremel, and got a door open but now the stand looks terrible, so heres my question, can i just replace the top and bottom, or should i just build a completely new one? If so how do i go about doing so.

from what you told me so far I would just build a new one... if it tore up that quickly then I would not trust it.

Well i was at work since 9am... So my ro unit was running, and 25 + gallons on the floor.... Little upset but what could i do, what do most people build stands out of? Ive never built one... The actual pillars look fine so i can probably salvage those but the bottom is pretty much done for, i had to peel like 1/2 inch off it bc it bubbled on both sides of my glass doors... And it still wont even close now...

I built mine out of non pressure treaded lumber. I started with 2x4's for the fram and skined it in pine wood and then stained it black to protect from water dammage and I can honestly say I love it ;D

May i see a picture, my stand now is black, with black glass doors... I really wat to use the glass so i may frame them and put them on the outside like a regular door

I used kiln dried fir 2x4's for all the framing of the stand. Then I used Oak plywood for the outside of the stand and stained it with cherry stain.

I would say don't risk it and build/buy a new stand.

Wow, was that one (made out of MDF) that you bought? I would definitely suggest building a completely new stand.

You can use a mix of 2x4 and 2x6s or you can just use all vertical grain plywood for the entire cabinet.
