I'd use acrylic pressure locking baffles. Do a search, I just them myself.

Either is fine. I used glass in mine cause it's cheaper than acrylic

My acrylic baffles on my glass tank have been holding just fine for 2 1/2 years.

I think most people recommend using glass. Because silicon doesn't hold on to acrylic. That being said I used 1/4" acrylic and used 3 times the amount of silicon. I used G.E. silicon ONE. Do not use G.E. # 2 it has antifungial added to it.

Silicon does form a weak bond to acrylic but bc there is none to very little pressure on baffles acylic is fine. Ill be using acrylic baffles in my new 120 gallon sump. Currently using acrylic in my 10 gallon refugium
