Alright my HOB Bak-pak 2 skimmer comes with a RIO 600r pump. The thing is is that the plug in starts from the pump witch it will be completley under water. I know you have to plug it in to make it work. I just been electicuted before and not fun so i do not want to be electricuted again ahah. kinda paranoid sorry.

i dont understand the problem? have you been electricuted by the pump in question before? if so dont use it. if it hasnt you shouldnt be worried, if your hand and plug are dry if it electricutes anything it will be the fish. so if they start twitching unplug it other wise touch the tank water. no shock your good. so dont worry be happy

lol ur safe. go ahead and plug it in. If it shocks you, there is something wrong with the pump.

It should be fine. 1) Make sure you have a loop in the cord so water can't make it to the plug. 2) Never touch the plug with a wet hand. 3) Always unplug any electrical componants before messing with them in the tank. Salt water is a very good conductor. I have been running the exact same skimmer on my tank for a year. The pump is designed to be used underwater and it sealed so that water can't short it out. Good luck.
