    Hello everyone,

Ok so here is the deal. I want to use some carbon again...my tank water isnt looking as...clear as I would like. I have a bak pak 2 and I am thinking of removing the bio bail [IMG] (blue stuff) and put some carbon bags in there...I have not cleaned that bail for 4 years and...does anything think that the tank losing it will be a problem?

That could be the source of your problem. Detritus build up in the biobail. I had one of those years ago and quit using it when it started leaking around the return pipe. lost about 100g+ of water in less then week, couldnt figure out what it was until I notice the water level didnt drop past the powerhead for it.

i have read several post on fish forums of people removing the blue stuff and their tanks crashing right afterwards
why not just place a small bag of carbon on top of the blue stuff
i put my phosabsorb bag there
