I just picked up a small frag of green slimer and last night and today the polyps are only extending on the un shaded side. The frag has a curve to it and under the skeleton it has no extension or color but the side under the light looks amazing. Any ideas?

It is about 10 inches under a 150w mh (only about 4 inches under the surface though)

That is normal. All of my SPS frags have little color and no PE on shaded sides.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I have a close approximation to a Bali Slimer, mine always does that. Shaped area no PE, and lighter coloration.

Frag is about 3 inches so sometimes I just rotate it, probably not supposed to but oh well.

It has extreme PE on the side that gets direct light. Makes sense, why use energy to extend polyps to an area not receiving direct lighting, instead using the most energy to those areas getting the most intense lighting, just a theory.

Put up a pick please. :)

I guess that all makes sense which is also why the birdsnest next to it has white on the shaded areas (BTW the pictures do not due the birdsnest justice and just make it look bleached but it is not)

Dont encourage me to take pictures I enjoy it too much! I do not have a macro lens so I struggle to try to manual focus it close to what I need, anyways here are my best attempts.
