I think I'm going to be mounting my ballasts inside my stand somewhere once it's built. I was wondering if it mattered how they were positioned. Can they be mounted vertically, sideways, etc...? Not sure if it mattered. Also will they need good air circulation? Would it be better to mount them on the back side of the stand, where they would be out in the open air?

I have mine sitting next to the sump. The MH's run the temp up on my tank. I bought a small clip on fan that I blow at the sump to help keep the tank cool and it overlaps and blows on the ballast to help get rid of the heat they generate also.
