Does anyone (Sponsors) sell ballasts for Current Satellite Dual 4 x 65 light fixtures? I checked my aquarium on Saturday and realized that only my actinics were working, (already checked time timer and bulbs both working a'ok) it appears that I need a new ballast. I checked the current-usa page and they recommended contacting the vendor, I figured that I would ask here to see if anyone sold them first.

    Thanks,
    Dustin

I looked it up. I'm a little confused, it stated that it provided up to 128 watts of power. Then another sight stated that it would only power 2x55watt bulbs. Which is correct?

    Thanks for your response!

It should fire them off just fine ? I don't recall the total wattage of them off hand but the work horse 7 will heat them both up If you have the room thats why I like to make my ballast remote from lamps Like a component stereo and the speakers and receiver where I want them. Not all in a single box :) I replaced one in a Hamilton's Box and they where 4x 65 and the newer ballast was noticeably brighter then the remaining old tar ballast. Hey get a workhorse 6 model

    WH6-120-L (L: 8.50" x W: 1.75" x H: 1.00") WH6-120-L 140w 120 18" 36" 16 oz. 50

Will to much power ruin the bulbs, if I go with the WH6. Sorry, I don't know very much about electrical matters.

    Thanks,
    Dustin

No that should not be an issue. What ballast is in the unit ? Open it up and look maybe a old tar ballast and cn get one from Lowes or hardware type store . But overdriving the buld is not an issue.

the ballast is an electronic ballast Model nomber APF-2/55PLL.
Here is a link to the site: Sunpark Electronics
If you still think that the WH6 is the way to go I will order two tonight to replace both the bad and the good ballast.

    Thanks again,
    Dustin

Yes they do and I use them for many Hamilton's all P/C's and even VHO custom build for Nanos and little tank's I just put a set of T-5's together for a customer's hood and one of the Sunpac's ballast was dead out of the box. Also it had 1 ballast per two 54 watt bulbs I went to the W/H 7 and fired all 4 of them . Also all you need to fire two bulbs is just one ballast if you have 4 55 w. bulbs then you need two ballast..
