    mine is a shade off from that.. I just looked at mine and my polyps are still extended. I would think that without them you would consider the coral dead.. Now Im worried and I have a test tomorrow.. **&%!!!!!

    my coral looks pretty much the same as it was when I bought it other than a few things. The color is a little darker and some of the absolute bottom pieces have died and turned white. Other than that it looks good and has good polyp extension. I was saying wouldnt you consider something dead once polyps are no longer extending or visible

    Yes, if polyps are not extending or visible - and the flesh is gone (white skeleton), I consider it dead. The frags you have pictured are either retracted due to getting fragged and and the color is off in the picture, otherwise, it looks like dead skeleton (to me) - hence my initial confusion :) The ones off to the right look a bit healthier.
