Thanks Mom, I do try to keep up..

Thanks, yeah its a steal if you can wait on the shipping.. I am impatient and rarely order things online..

Thanks. The 90s do restrict, but Im looking for something in the 2000+ gph range(used) so it wont make too much of a difference.. The pump is a hydor seltz l40.. I think it does around 760, Im not sure.. Its just temporary.. Want to sell me your dart?

You need a high head pressure pump. Keep in mind the water pressure from the tank will restrict flow as well - the seals on the pump will take a beating. Reeflo pumps are high head pressure pumps - the Hydor is not. You need a pretty hefty pump. If you get a 740gph pump I do not think you will get much useful flow at all but I could be wrong. I have a 600gph for my sump return and just looking at the flow at 5 foot head if I dispersed that into the tank it would be pretty useless - it's barely enough to chop the surface. I already have the Dart promised to a local buyer otherwise I would sell to you. If for some reason the local deal falls through I will let you know. I do not mean to rain on the parade at all but honestly I would be careful just connecting the Hydor to the CL - your returns are at the bottom of your tank right? That's a lot of pressure on that pump.

Thank you, I didn't take the pressure into consideration. I was planning on upgrading to something in the mag24 range or an Iwaki, looks like I will have to get on that sooner than later.. Good thing I plumbed in valves so I can shut this off.. As my water level increases the flow is almost diminished. Not what I though I would see. Thank you again. I always take constructive criticism.

You're welcome. I would not do a Mag 24 either. They have a higher fail rate out of water and get hot. Iwaki would be a better choice, or a PanWorld pressure rated pump (nice), or Reeflo (simply awesome). There's a lot of pressure involved there. Just trying to help man - my 600gph pump does around 400 (approx) gph at the 5ft I have it at and I only have it chop the surface - and by the time it gets halfway across the tank, you can't see the flow at all.

I underestimated the amount of flow this time.. Im actually pretty excited to get a huge pump now.. All Ill have to do is buy some new plumbing and presto..
