I dried my rocks in the hot Texas sun for 2 weeks then used a 50/50 bleach solution to kill everything else inside the rocks and to whiten them back up. Now they are drying again and will be for a few days. I will then do another 2 day soak in RODI water and then do another dry for a few days and then one last soak before putting them back into the tank.. Its quite a process but its worth it to start with new rock.. I will also buy another 20lbs of LR to seed all of this new rock..

Hey Tom, How is the tank going.. Lets see an update to your build thread.. I wish I had anything to spare for you, but I kinda gave you all of my spare stuff already. I hope things are good for you, your family, and that crazy dog too, haha..

Nice! looking forward to following this thread closely as I have also gotten the green light for an upgrade shortly on my tank.

I can use the ideas and hopefully learn a few new tips and tricks!

That I don't yet know.. We will see what the LFS gets in stock when the time is near. I can't wait to have one..

Thanks, I will keep a watch for your build too.. I am still trying to decide my aquascape. I am thinking two rock islands with SPS on them and then some clams and some select LPS on the sand bed..

I was about to throw in the towel but my girlfriend and mother insisted that I keep up with it. It is such a healthy hobby which is not really that expensive if you compare it to my old hobby of flying or an equestrian type sport..

    So go for it!!!! :)

Ok, so I fell way behind on updates.. I got my stand stained and finally moved it back to my place today from the garage.

Its an Aqueon 90 RR, Was $329 originally but FishGallery is having a sale where all pre-order tanks are 40% off right now.. So I walked out for $214 which was amazing Especially since I had $200 in store credit. I really love this LFS.

Tomorrow will be spent on plumbing and filling this mammoth beast. From here on I will keep updates with everything I do..

Thanks, I just realized that one of my doors needs another coat. I did one and the GF did the other, apparently she is more liberal on stain.
