So my buddy has 2 bamboo shark eggs, and asked me if i wanted to hatch one so i could experience it(then give the shark back to him after it hatches)!

I have done a little research about these guys in the past, but wondering if anyone has any experience with these guys?

I would love to hatch it just for the experience of hatching one!

I know to hang the egg on the tank wall, with low flow, and when they hatch they come out around 6". And to start feeding them very small silversides, like a 1/4 of the silverside because they have very small mouths as juvies.

But any tips, or info, or experience anyone has would be great!

I have no experience, but how do people feel the young shark will handle the move from one tank to another shortly after birth?

Just something to get the convo. going.

i hear they dont have that good of a hatching rate, i wouldnt do it cuz if it doesnt hatch it then the guy can just blame you for it haha. trying to save money by just buying an egg i believe just makes you end up losing more in the long run because they dont often hatch and if they do the sharks usually dont have a good healthy start.

Pups are really hard to get eating once hatched. Majority of them die. If it does start eating you have to feed it small meals very often throughout the day, hard for someone who is gone at work and other things during the day
