I have had many shrimps in with a CBS and they have never attacked anything including the shrimp, my vote is going that you will be fine. Some times when things come up missing people blame them on other things in the tank, and in most cases thats not true, they could have died for no reason or old age or anything and if it happened during the night and you have a good clean up crew you will never see it agian.

Yup, nuking never works, even if you get it in the mouth you never really destroy the foot. Also idk how long u have ahd your tank maybe you can "borrow" a copperband butterfly and then return it to the store in a month.

Tank has been up for a year.. it's only 16 gallons so I'd feel bad for the copper banded. there's really only 6-8 aiptasia and they're small

The Peps ate them! Muhahaha! My CBS chased them out of his cave and that was it. He doesn't like anyone lol.. a real grmpy pants. I made sure I got larger pepermint (3 of em) shrimp, they're almost the same size as the CBS. I have one more aiptasia which sits in an empty astrea shell, and of course its way back in the tank.. I'll wait a few more days, then I'll yank the shell out.

Wow. Yay for the Peppermint shrimp. I was going to suggest injecting the aipastia, with a hypodermic needle, using lemon juice. It worked for me.

glad i found this thread..i have been wondering the same thing..i have seen a few pop up in my tank and have nuked them and they keep returning..my next purchase will definitely be a couple peppermints! My CBS isn't TOO much of a grump..so hopefully it will work out. Thanks

My CBS so far doesn't care unless they go near his cave.. then he's PO'ed. I got 3 of them and I am hoping they breed, too so my livestock can feed of them. One of my Peppermint's likes to clean my arm when it's in the tank.. rested in my hand for a while too. I've tried chemical methods on the Aiptasia and the just return.. This rules! Oh and they also ate the hydroids I had on a zoa rock. Those suck!
